Origami Posters

This project explores the intersection of fashion, origami, and design through a wearable paper headpiece inspired by historical attire and geometric forms. After watching Nosferatu I was enamored by the silhouette of a victorian bonnet so I decided to focus on the waterbomb tessellation because its form reminded me of the ruffles on a bonnet. Using modular units of the waterbomb origami and tyvek paper, I created a dynamic structure that bends and conforms to the head.

The final piece was styled and photographed on a friend in a studio, then refined in Photoshop to design into bold visuals that emphasize its movement, structure, and craftsmanship. High ornamentation and visual excess that defines the Victorian era is referenced in the typeface chosen (Clavichord).
